5/20/2020 E-MailI support the plan if they can comply with code for abandonment processes. Kris Cooper Deputy Fire Marshal City of Colorado Springs Fire Department 375 Printers Parkway Colorado Springs, CO 80910 TEL (719) 385-7358 Kris.cooper@coloradosprings.gov From: Manning, Stefan S. Sent: Tuesday, May 19, 2020 3:25 PM To: Cooper, Kris Cc: Smith, Steven D. Subject: Request for Underground Tank Abandonment at Colorado School for Deaf and Blind Hi Kris, I received a permit application from CGRS to abandon a tank at the Colorado School of the Deaf and Blind, and they have provided justification due to the proximity of the old foundation and the fact that the facility is on the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties. Given these factors and the proximity, I would be okay with allowing the abandonment due to the concern with damage to the historic facility with the rock foundation., especially as their proposed abandonment process meets fire code requirements for abandonment. Let me know your thoughts and if you need more information from CGRS. Thanks!
