5/14/2020 FYI*****(STANDARD COMMENT) This project is: Cheyenne Mountain Care Center, 835 Tenderfoot Hill Dr, Fire Alarm Upgrade This plan review is based on the requirements found within the adopted Editions of the International Building Code, International Fire Code and the related Standards.
Disapproved*****(STANDARD COMMENT) DISAPPROVED COMMENTS The following information and/or corrections are needed prior to completing a full plan review. Please respond, in writing on letterhead, to each of the following comments: 1. Provide PR# 2020-0658-AL-1 on resubmittal. 2. What is driving this upgrade of the system? Provide this in scope of work. 3. NFPA 72 does not require a relay at every set of door holders. Refer to section 21.2.4 and the explanatory information in the annex. As long as door holders are fail-safe this is not a requirement, however CSFD cannot limit anything above and beyond the minimum requirements. 4. Previous records indicate elevator recall and smoke detection. What has changed? New elevator technology? Smoke detection is allowed to be within 21 feet of elevators. Please provide explanation. 5. Plans indicate existing two-way radio, however when panel was replaced in 2017 it was indicated as using phone lines. The new upgrade will require communications per 2019 NFPA 72. Provide information on a new communicator, how it is powered, location and how it is powered. 6. Provide a scale for measuring purposes on the electronic submittal and calibrate plan accordingly. This is important for new notification devices. 7. Wrong size battery indicated for main panel according to calcs. Also review the disapproved plans for additional written comments prior to submittal of new plans.
FYICORRECTIONS All corrections and comments are to be submitted back to CSFD in writing, or provide submittal sheets/drawings, etc as requested, to complete the review. Corrections are not accepted over the phone, via fax, email or verbally.
AttentionTHE DISAPPROVED ITEMS MAY NOT CONSITITUE A COMPLETE LIST OF VIOLATIONS. It is the responsibility of the design professional to conduct a complete re-review of the plans for additional violations of the adopted codes/standards and incorrect information prior to resubmitting.
