Disapproved*****(STANDARD COMMENT) DISAPPROVED COMMENTS The following information and/or corrections are needed prior to completing a full plan review. Please respond, in writing on letterhead, to each of the following comments: 1. Sprinkler plans need to be submitted prior to fire alarm plans so that the preaction valves can be identified as far as single interlock, double interlock, and etc.. CSFD can then verify the application is correct for the sprinkler design. This design would tie in to your revision. 2. Plans indicate preaction zones, however CSFD would like to know exactly what devices activate preaction valve solenoids. Also review the disapproved plans for additional written comments prior to submittal of new plans.
FYICORRECTIONS All corrections and comments are to be submitted back to CSFD in writing, or provide submittal sheets/drawings, etc as requested, to complete the review. Corrections are not accepted over the phone, via fax, email or verbally.
AttentionTHE DISAPPROVED ITEMS MAY NOT CONSITITUE A COMPLETE LIST OF VIOLATIONS. It is the responsibility of the design professional to conduct a complete re-review of the plans for additional violations of the adopted codes/standards and incorrect information prior to resubmitting.

Disapproved*****(STANDARD COMMENT 19) DISAPPROVED COMMENTS The following information and/or corrections are needed prior to completing a full plan review. Please respond, in writing on letterhead, to each of the following comments: 1. Site Plan does not meet the requirements nor intent of said requirement. You have provided a vicinity plan, where site plans provide the actual site, access, etc indicating north direction. They assist with addressable devices having directional addresses and ensuring direction is correct. Reference 2009 IFC 105.4.2 regaring construction documents. 2. Matrix: you appear to be providing supervision for a dry type sprinkler system (low air pressure). 2016 NFPa 72: 17.16.2.2.2 requires monitoring of high air pressure as well. Correct matrix to include high air pressure. 3. Matrix: your matrix shows supervisory signals for 2-way communications, but sending trouble signals. Reconcile your matrix to ensure proper signal and transmissions match. 4. Matrix - Elevators: As of 11/7/17, elevators 1 and 3 are hydraulic and therefore do not have sprinklers at the top of the hoistway, therefore do no have shunt trip requirements. Elevator #2 is traction with non-rated belts, requiring sprinklers at the top of the hoistway (per NFPA 13) and will require shunt trip. Reconcile your matrix to indicate proper elevator input/outputs by type of elevator. 5. 2-way communication - you are indicating this is going to "an approved monitoring location." Who are you proposing is the "approved monitoring location?" 6. Battery calculations - FACP: the required 20% reserve isnot indicated, the total draw nor battery provided is not indicated either. Reference 72: 10.6.7.2. 7. Cafe Mechanical Vault - how will anyone working in the mechanical vault know if there is an alarm condition in the building(s)? 8. Archive 035: you have indicate there is a clean agent system in here, and the suppression system is by others. What about the alarm/detection of that system? Is that part of your scope or is that going to be part of the clean agent permit scope of work? 9. Archive 035: Initiating and releasing circuit wiring shall be installed in raceways 2018 NFPA 2001: 4.3.1.3. How is this being complied with? 10. Sheet FA-05: how is the required audible levels being met in the business/office areas? You have not shown any audible notification in these areas. Reference 2009 IFC 907.6.2.1.1. 11. Elevators: Verify appropriate RTI for the heat detectors in the shaft for shunt trip - the RTI is not the same as the temperature rating. 12. Kitchen: smoke detection is noted in the kitchen/cooking areas. location of smoke detection shall be based on an evalualtion of potential ambient sources of smoke, moisture, dust, or fumes and electrical/mechanical influences to minimize nuisance alarms. How is adding smoke detection to the kitchen addressing this requirement? 72: 17.7.1.9. typical to both kitchens 13.. Summer Games Rm 250, sheet FA-07: Notification appears to be lacking in this space. Please clarify how notification is to be achieved in this area. Also review the disapproved plans for additional written comments prior to submittal of new plans.
FYI(STANDARD COMMENT 20) CORRECTIONS All corrections and comments are to be submitted back to CSFD in writing, or provide submittal sheets/drawings, etc as requested, to complete the review. Corrections are not accepted over the phone, via fax, email or verbally.

11/7/2017 ApprovedElevator 1 & 3 are going to be hydraulic. Elevator 2 is machine room-less with non rated belts.
