Judges
Twelve judges preside over the daily sessions of the Colorado Springs Municipal Court. They are assigned to individual sessions by the presiding judge. Each judge is a licensed attorney at law who may maintain a law practice while serving the City of Colorado Springs as a judge on a part time basis. Municipal court judges are appointed by the Colorado Springs City Council and serve at their pleasure. Daily management of the court is the responsibility of the court administrator. Communication with any individual judge about specific cases is done on the record in open court. Judges do not accept private phone calls outside of the courtroom. Some judges also perform marriage ceremonies. Those judges who perform marriage ceremonies have an (M) after their name.
