The fourth and final phase of improvements on Cottonwood Creek from Union Boulevard to Rangewood Drive is completed, pending punch list items. Erosion and flood damage along Cottonwood Creek was threatening existing infrastructure, sanitary sewer crossings and adjacent public and private property. Using a combination of City General Fund and Stormwater Enterprise funding, improvements were started in 2007. Phases I and II were completed in 2007 and Phase III was completed in 2008. The work includes new drop structures, bank protection and channel improvements to reduce erosion, damage and flooding threats to adjacent properties, including Cottonwood Creek Park.
