Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee
Voters approved a 4/10ths of a cent Public Safety Sales Tax (PSST) increase in November 2001. City Council appointed eleven citizens to the Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee to monitor expenditures from the PSST fund and to ensure that voters receive the projects and services on the ballot.
The PSSTOC meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of every month, 4:30-6:30 p.m., typically at the Police Operations Center - Community Room. The committee is required to meet quarterly and other meetings are held on an as-needed basis, so there may be some months when no meetings are held. All scheduled meetings are subject to cancellation due to weather, lack of quorum, etc., but those situations may not occur in time to be updated on the internet.
Committee meetings are open to the public.
