The City adopted a revision to the Sign code provisions for private property in April of 2012 incorporating up-to-date sign technology and marketing practices while promoting a visually attractive and safer environment for our community. Significant changes to the code include the addition of Coordinated Sign Plans (CSP) for commercial centers and Electronic Message Centers (EMC). Applications and permits for signs on private property are handled by staff at the Development Review Enterprise. A sign application must be submitted when applying for a new sign; if the new sign is an EMC, the EMC compliance form must also submitted with the appropriate authorization.
No sign may be placed within public right-of-way without first obtaining a revocable permit. Depending on the type and size of a particular sign, a revocable permit may not be possible.
