We are not currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. Applications will be available September 29 - October 10, 2014.  You may find the application at

You may fill out an interest card and we will send you updates as we receive them.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department utilizes for our application process.  You may start your profile at anytime using the directions in the document below.  When the position opens, all you will have to do is apply.

September 29 – October 10, 2014

FireTEAM Test (emails with details will be sent). Information about the FireTEAM test can be found at

October 31, 2014

Employment List to be published. Candidates will receive an email advising them of their band placement on the employment list.

November 3 – November 4, 2014

Chiefs will review applications and resumes for those in Band 1 and decide who will receive an interview.

November 5, 2014

Candidates selected for Command Board interviews will be notified and scheduled.

November 14, 2014

Documentation of a current CPAT MUST be received by the CSFD HR office no later than 5:00 p.m MDT. You may fax them to 719-385-7277, email them to cbeckey@springsgov.comor attach them to your application. Please remember that CPATs are only good for 12 months and must be valid now and at the time of final offers.

November 17, 2014 – November 21, 2014

Command Board interviews for those selected for interview. This will include a 16PF (psychological) test.

November 25, 2014

Candidates selected for the background check process will be notified and scheduled.

December 8 – 19, 2014

Background process for those selected for conditional offers. The background checking process includes a polygraph, medical examination, thorough background check, the MMPI (psychological) test, a psychological interview, and an aerial ladder climb.

January 6, 2014

Final offers will be sent to those selected for hire and attendance to the 2015-1 Training Academy.

February 23 – 27, 2015

New employee will meet with CSFD HR to finalize new hire paperwork.

March 2, 2015

2015-1 Training Academy to begin.
