Colorado Springs Airport relies on City IT for critical infrastructure, services and support, including LAN / WAN / Internet connectivity, Web site hosting, Exchange and the ERP applications for payroll and human resources.
Airport IT collaborates extensively with City IT staff to leverage existing enterprise technologies, avoid duplication of services and maintain the highest level of availability for the airport's 24/7 operations serving the traveling public.
The airport has 2 IT persons on staff. The primary responsibility of the Airport's IT staff is for the development, installation, support and maintenance of the multiple airport specific-information systems, many required by Federal Aviation Regulations for operating a commercial airport. End users include airport staff, passengers, Federal; state, local and private sector agencies. Systems include Access Control and Management, Flight / Baggage Information Displays, (FIDS / BIDS), Revenue Controls, Phone / Voice services and the Public WiFi Internet Access network. They are also part of the Airport's on-call team and assist with snow removal and incident response.
