Sunday July 27th, 2014
10am to 2pm
On July 27, 2014, step back in time for the “free” Founders Day Celebration, in the “Think You Know History” series. From 10am to 2pm you can bring a picnic lunch, set back, and watch a Baseball Exhibition much like you might have watched in Colorado Springs on July 31, 1871.
In addition to the baseball game, you can indulge your inner child with additional games from our cities early history. Pan for gold just like the prospectors did over 100 years ago. Enjoy tours and carriage rides throughout this historic place. There will also be concessions available
For the homemaker, there will be a handmade lace demonstration from 10am to 11am along with an antique clothing display.
The Historic Evergreen Chapel will resonate with the sounds of music from musicians Curtis Boucher and Sabrina King
There will also be concessions available for sale to help raise funds for continued restoration work at the cemetery.
Come join the “free” fun at the 1st Annual Founders Day celebration in the Historic Evergreen Cemetery on July 27, 2014 from 10am to 2pm. Help us celebrate the founding of Colorado Springs.
