Structure Fire at 4825 Astrozon Blvd.

Colorado Springs, CO – On March 6, 2014 at 11:45 a.m., Colorado Springs firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 4825 Astrozon Blvd.  The first CSFD engine arrived within six minutes to find light to moderate smoke coming from the mobile home.

CSFD responded to this single alarm fire call with six large and seven support vehicles. Approximately 33 firefighters and support personnel were on scene.

Two people were displaced from the home. There were no reported injuries from this incident.

The CSFD estimates that $33,793 of property/content was saved; the overall loss was $27,919 in property/content.

The fire is determined to be accidental due to the heating of combustible material from the furnace unit.

CSFD reminds everyone that furnaces need to be inspected and serviced at least once a year by a qualified professional.  Also, smoke alarms should be installed and maintained in every home.
