Structure Fire at 1007 Rainier Drive

Colorado Springs, CO – On February 12, 2014 at 2:56 a.m., Colorado Springs firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1007 Rainier Drive. The first CSFD engine arrived within four minutes. Upon arrival firefighters found fire inside and outside of the garage.

CSFD responded to this single alarm fire call with two Engine companies and 2 Truck companies. Approximately 17 firefighters and support personnel were on scene.

One person suffered minor injuries and was displaced from the home.

CSFD has estimated that $162,232 of property/content was saved, limiting the overall loss to $6,307 in property/content.

The origin and cause are still under investigation.

CSFD reminds everyone to be sure to have working smoke detectors in all sleeping areas.  Also, be sure to have an adequate evacuation plan in place for any and all emergencies.
