CSFD TO PROMOTE NEW DEPUTY CHIEF, 6 OTHERS AT CEREMONY FRIDAY

Colorado Springs, CO – Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach will swear in six new promotees for the Colorado Springs Fire Department in a ceremony Friday, February 14th, including a new Deputy Chief.  Colorado Springs Fire Chief Chris Riley named Ted Collas as Deputy Chief of Support Services.

Chief Collas has been employed by the Colorado Springs Fire Department since 1985, and has worked in the Operations, Training and Medical Divisions. As Deputy Chief of Support Services, he will oversee internal and external services that ensure the readiness of the fire department to create a safe community.

“Chief Collas is a respected leader in the Colorado Springs Fire Department,” says Chief Riley.  “His years of service and expertise are true assets and will help move the Fire Department forward.”

Six others will also be promoted Friday:

  • Gary Reading – Battalion Chief
  • Barry Madison – Captain
  • Michael Offutt – Captain
  • Mike Galvin – Lieutenant
  • Grant Tinker – Lieutenant
  • Ryan Warner – Lieutenant 

“I am pleased with the level of experience, education, and skills these individuals will bring into their new positions,” stated Riley.
