Monday, November 04, 2013

Colorado Springs, Colo. -- Colorado Springs Airport officials are excited to welcome Alaska Airlines to the City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region.  Throughout the inauguration of Alaska Airlines’ service, City and Airport officials will celebrate the new airline with a series of commemorative events, including welcoming and thanking the first passengers on Alaska’s arriving and departing flights.

“Thank you, Alaska Airlines, for this commitment to our region.  We wish you tremendous success here,” said Mayor Steve Bach, City of Colorado Springs.  Mayor Bach and his wife, Suzi, will be passengers on Alaska Airlines’ first flight to Seattle, scheduled to depart Colorado Springs Saturday morning, Nov. 2.

"I am pleased to officially welcome Alaska Airlines to the Colorado Spring Airport,” said Dan Gallagher, Director of Aviation. “We're excited to be working with our newest airline business partner on this new service. The airport is committed to making this flight, along with all flights serving COS, as successful as possible.”

Alaska Airlines will operate daily non-stop service to Seattle:

  • Morning flight departs Colorado Springs at 8:00 am, arriving in Seattle at 9:55 am.
  • Return flight departs Seattle at 6:20 pm, arriving in Colorado Springs at 9:55 pm.
  • Aircraft: 70-seat CRJ-700 aircraft.

This new service is a direct result of continued efforts by City and Airport leaders to explore opportunities for increased air service in the region. The Airport is working towards creating a lower-cost, more business-friendly environment to attract additional air service to Colorado Springs.
