Visit China with the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon and Cañon Volunteers!
Saturday, October 5, 2013, 10-11:30a; Starsmore Discovery Center
You won’t need your luggage, but keep it handy, as you will want to visit this ancient and fascinating land by the time Cañon volunteer, Liz Enas, finishes her multi-media presentation. Liz traveled to China in April/May 2012. You’ll learn about historical content in relation to her travels. Liz will also focus on the many paradoxical sides to this vibrant country: young people in cities tied to their cell phones, but people still sweep the streets with straw brooms; students so focused on their studies that schools are starting mandatory exercise programs to fight a new trend towards obesity.
Call 719-385-6086 to reserve your seat, by Friday, 10/04! If you’re not a Friends member or city Cañon volunteer, your ticket to this event is the purchase of a Friends’ membership. All proceeds go back to the Cañon. Membership also allows entrance into other fun and interesting events throughout the year. Take a trip to China and support the Cañon at the same time!
