City of Colorado Springs now offers online sales tax services
Friday, September 20, 2013

Colorado Springs, Colo.-- The City of Colorado Springs Finance Department is pleased to announce that the Sales Tax Division is now accepting online sales tax returns, making it easier and more convenient for retail businesses to file their returns.  The new program also offers the ability for business owners to apply and pay for a retail sales tax license online.

“This is another step forward in creating a more business-friendly city by transforming City government,” said Chief Financial Officer Kara Skinner. “This online program makes it easier and more efficient to do business with the City.”

Until now, businesses had to mail or deliver their sales tax returns in person. Advantages of the new program include 24-7 availability, reliable and secure delivery, reduced mailing costs and paperwork for both businesses and the City, payment by electronic check and no processing fee for users.

To get started, businesses are simply required to register online and establish a profile, username and password at www.SpringsGov.com/salestax.
