Pikes Peak over Shooks Run

Uintah over Monument Creek

On Monday, September 23rd, beginning at 6:00 am, Pikes Peak Avenue and Uintah Street will be reduced to a single lane in each direction for preventive maintenance to the Bridge decks. The lane closures will shift as the project continues with each lane closure lasting approximately 12 hours. The projects should be completed by Wednesday night.

The City is actively pursuing preventive maintenance to ensure the longest functional life for our Bridge Infrastructure. The scope of work consists of using a concrete sealer on the median and sidewalks, and a two-part epoxy aggregate overlay on the driving surface. Drivers should expect some delays and use alternate routes when possible.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

Media should contact Aaron Egbert, at 385-5365 with any questions.

This project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
