Mayor Bach to hold meeting to discuss City Stormwater Review by CH2M Hill
Thursday, September 05, 2013

Mayor Steve Bach is inviting Colorado Springs City Council, El Paso County Commissioners and key senior leaders of the Stormwater Task Force to a presentation, in early October, of the CH2M HILL independent review of the City of Colorado Springs’ stormwater projects. Topics of discussion will include recommendations for priority projects and associated costs, next steps and alternative solutions.

Attendees will receive an executive briefing from City staff on the CH2M Hill “second opinion” of the City’s current stormwater project needs. The meeting will offer the Regional Task Force an opportunity to summarize its two proposed stormwater solution options and an opportunity for Council President Keith King to summarize his proposed stormwater alternative solution. Mayor Bach will then present a fourth proposal on behalf of the City  for regional collaboration on stormwater, which will concurrently enable the City to tackle both our community stormwater needs as well as the City’s other critical CIP needs, including roads and bridges.

“This meeting will be an important opportunity to continue a local and regional conversation regarding the possible options to address our stormwater needs. A third party analysis gives us a solid basis to move forward,” says Mayor Bach.  “It is critical that we have this outside look at current and future stormwater needs in order to develop the best solution possible.  I look forward to sharing the results and discussing solutions with our community stakeholders.”
