Steve Dubay named Interim Chief of Colorado Springs Fire Department

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo -- Mayor Steve Bach has named Steve Dubay Interim Chief of the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Chief Dubay will serve until incoming Fire Chief Chris Riley begins on Monday, September 9th.

“For 25 years, Chief Dubay has served the citizens of Colorado Springs at all levels of the Fire Department. His experience and leadership skills will serve as a tremendous asset during this time of transition,” said Mayor Bach.

Steve Dubay is a twenty-eight year veteran of the fire service, having started his career in 1985 with the City of Casper (Wyoming) Fire Department.  Chief Dubay has worked for the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) since 1988.

He is a Colorado state-certified and nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic; has completed a Bachelor of Science in Fire Service Administration and a Masters of Public Administration; and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program.  Steve holds membership in the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the International Association of Fire Fighters, the National Fire Protection Association, and the American Society for Public Administration.
