Shooting, 4500 Jetwing Circle West

Friday, July 5, 2013, 7:15 AM [RELEASE AT WILL]

On Friday, July 5, 2013 at about 2:18AM, Officers of the Sand Creek Division of the Colorado Springs Police Department were dispatched to the 4500 block of Jetwing Circle West in regards to a Disturbance.  Prior to officer’s arrival the reporting party advised that an individual had been shot.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 21 year old male victim who had suffered from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition.  The name of the victim will not be released pending notification of family members.

The CSPD Major Crimes Unit responded and is in the early stages of investigating this incident.  At this time, they are interviewing numerous witnesses.  They have identified a person of interest; however, there are no subjects in custody at this time. 

The Police Department believes that this is an isolated incident and that there is no continuing danger to the community.
