North Nevada Avenue bridges over Union Pacific Railroad and Van Buren Ditch

On Monday, July 8, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., northbound and southbound Nevada Avenue traffic north of Jackson Street and south of Fillmore Street will be switched onto the new bridge. Traffic will continue to be reduced to a single lane in each direction to replace the southbound bridge over the Van Buren Ditch and Union Pacific Railroad. Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

This phase of the project is anticipated to last for the next six months. Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the newly repaired northbound bridge. All businesses will have access and remain open during construction.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs asks motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs through the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

Media, please contact Aaron Egbert at 385-5465 with any questions.

The project is funded by the City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
