City Council Seeks Citizen Volunteers for the Audit Committee

The Colorado Springs City Council is seeking citizens to fill vacancies on the recently established Audit Committee of the City of Colorado Springs. The purpose of the Audit Committee is to assist the governing body, City Council, in fulfilling oversight responsibilities for the City’s financial reporting processes, systems of internal control, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and internal and external audit processes, including those for all of the City’s enterprises.

The Audit Committee will be composed of two members of City Council and three members from the business community.  Monthly meetings are generally held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month.

 The three current Audit Committee vacancies will be filled for staggered terms as follows:

  • One term of one year
  • One term of two years
  • One term of three years
