Uncle Wilbur Fountain
in Acacia Park, 115 East Plate Avenue

Daily; Noon to 6:00 p.m.

Julie Penrose Fountain
in America the Beautiful Park, 126 Cimino Drive
Hours of Operation
May 26*-mid August 2013
* Due to mechanical issues, the Julie Penrose Fountain will remain closed until Sunday, May 26
Daily; 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Deerfield Hills Spray Ground Opens June 1
next to Deerfield Hills Community Center, 4290 Deerfield Hills Road
Experience our Water Playground... the Spray Ground includes 16 different water spray features containing over 50 individual spray nozzles and various features including: Bell Trios, Foaming Geysers, Ground Geysers, Soak Stations, Water Jellys, Water Quests, Water Trios and a Water Wall!

June 1 - August 11, 2013 
Mondays-Fridays; 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays-Sundays; Noon to 4:00 p.m.

August 12 - September 2, 2013

About the Fountains

  • Fountains are subject to close due to adverse weather conditions such as high winds, severe rain and thunderstorms, or temperatures under 60 degrees.
  • Fountains are subject to close due to technical difficulties and/or emergency maintenance repairs due to the unavailability of the availability of technical staff associated with these types of circumstances.
  • Fountains are supervised by trained CPR/First Aid staff members; in addition, management is lifeguard certified and/or lifeguard instructor.


Outdoor pools and Prospect Lake Beach open May 25

The City of Colorado Springs and YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region are set to open four outdoor aquatic centers to the public on Saturday, May 25 with 2-for-1 pool entry at Monument Valley, Portal and Wilson Ranch Pools and Prospect Lake Beach.  See attached release and visit www.ppymca.orgfor more info.
