Domestic Disturbance Arrest
Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Press Release 1305-15

Friday, May 24, 2013, 4:15 PM [RELEASE AT WILL]

At 8:03 this morning, a 9-1-1 call was received of a domestic disturbance at an apartment near the 2400 block of North Union Boulevard indicating the victim was choked by a male.  The female victim was heard screaming before the line was lost.

Officers responded and were advised by the victim that the suspect was using her cell phone when another male’s picture appeared as he was calling in.  According to the victim, the suspect “freaked out” and before leaving the home, placed both his hands around her neck and began to choke her.  The victim stated that the suspect continued “shaking her and pushing her down hard.”  The victim said that she fought back in an attempt to get the suspect off her.

Moments later, the suspect exited a bedroom with a 12 gauge, pump shotgun and pointed it at the victim who was less than 10’ away as he tried to pull the trigger.  The victim stated that he was unsuccessful because she had placed a trigger safety lock over the trigger guard.  As the victim ran past the suspect into the bedroom, she was tried to latch the door but the suspect kicked it and followed her in.  According to the victim, she was pushed backward onto the bed and as she was curled up on the bed, the suspect knelt over her and held the gun up as if to smash her face.

Based on this information, coupled with threats made, Curtis Boyd {05/10/90} was arrested for Criminal Attempt Murder in the Second Degree, Felony Menacing, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Obstruction of Telephone Service {as he allegedly smashed her phone when she was calling for help} and Harassment.
