Metro Rides 20th Annual Bike to Work Day and Corporate Challenge Event Registration is Now

Metro Rides, a division of Mountain Metropolitan Transit, organizes Bike to Work Day each June to encourage bicycling for personal and community health, alternative transportation, recreation and sustainability. This year marks the 20th anniversary Metro Rides Bike to Work Day, and the event will be held on June 26th. Registration is required and if you sign up by June 15th you can enjoy a free breakfast at three convenient locations throughout the community, and be entered in a drawing for a Team Kit (shorts & jersey), compliments of USA Cycling.

June 26th is also the anniversary of the Waldo Canyon Fire, and the Bike to Work Day Breakfast will include a tribute to fire, police, and all first responders who fought the battle to keep our community safe. So don’t delay and get registered for this fun community event!

• Have your bike checked over by your local bike shop

• Always wear a helmet to protect your head

• Ride in the far right lane

• Obey all stop signs, traffic lights and lane markings

• Look before you change lanes and/or signal a turn; indicate your intention, then act

• Be visible and predictable at all times; wear bright clothing and signal turns

Mountain Metropolitan Transit provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs.
