Bridge Repairs - Traffic Impacts

North Nevada Avenue bridges over Union Pacific Railroad and Van Buren Ditch

On Thursday, April 25, northbound and southbound Nevada Avenue north of Jackson Street and south of Fillmore Street will experience temporary traffic disruptions as cement trucks enter and exit the construction site for placement of the new concrete bridge deck. Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

The project is anticipated to last for the next year with the northbound bridge being closed for approximately two additional months. Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound bridge. Once the northbound repairs have been completed, construction will shift to the southbound bridge for another six months.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs asks motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs through the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

The project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
