 Mountain Shadows Park

Please join the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado State Forest Service, Colorado Springs Utilities, Colorado Springs Together and our community partners for the Arbor Day Ceremony on Saturday, April 27 at Mountain Shadows Park from 9 to 10:00 a.m.

After the ceremony, volunteers from several community organizations will plant trees in the Mountain Shadows Neighborhood and Open Space to help revitalize the area following the Waldo Canyon Fire. Followed by the reading of the Arbor Day Proclamation by Keith King, City Council President, Keith Wood from Colorado State Forest Service will present the “Tree Line USA” and “Tree City USA “awards. Mayor Steve Bach will then participate in the ceremonial Tree Planting which will take place in Mountain Shadows Park.

This Spruce up the Springs project is part of the Mayor’s Spirit of the Springs Initiatives. Colorado Springs celebrates its 36th year as a “Tree City USA,” and for the 18th consecutive year Colorado Springs Utilities has been named a “Tree Line USA” utility.

These awards recognize our City’s commitment to maintain our beautiful urban forest and assure quality tree care in our community.
