City of Colorado Springs to find location for Sgt. David Dunlap Memorial Bench
Monday, April 15, 2013
U.S. Forest Service Statement:
The Forest Service understands the desire of families, groups, and organizations wanting to memorialize loved ones. Forest Service policy does not allow for memorials on National Forest Land. Exceptions are made via special use permits and Congressional designation.
The City of Colorado Springs will find an appropriate and dignified location for the memorial bench, near the Incline, to honor the memory of Sgt. David Dunlap, his wife Whitney, and their unborn child. With the full support of the U.S. Forest Service, the bench will not be removed from the Incline until a proper site is found.
