Sunday, April 7, 2013, 7:15 PM [RELEASE AT WILL]

In the afternoon hours of Sunday, April 7, 2013 at approximately 3:04 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department received the report of shots fired at the Roy P. Benavidez Park, located in the 975 Afternoon Cr.

Upon arrival, officers found that two (2) males were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Both of these individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment.  One (1) of the males is listed in critical condition.  The second male’s condition is not known at this time.

The shooting stemmed from a disturbance.  Police are looking for two (2) black males, 20-30 years of age, no further description is available.  The police are also looking for a possible suspect vehicle described as a Maroon Mini Van with shinny paint.  It is possibly a Dodge make.   

These possible suspects are considered Armed and Dangerous.

Violent Crimes Unit detectives are on scene conducting the investigation by documenting the crime scene, collecting evidence and interviewing possible witnesses.
