Flood Risk Preparedness Meeting Offered to Pleasant Valley Residents

The City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management will host a resident preparedness meeting on the post Waldo Canyon Fire flood risk Thursday, April 11 for residents of the Pleasant Valley neighborhood and the general public.

April 11, 2013

6 to 8 p.m.

The Great Hall at Glen Eyrie (3820 N. 30th St.)

The meeting will provide education and updated information with regard to the increased flood risk following damage to vegetation in the Waldo Canyon burn scar.  Speakers will spend the first part of the evening addressing key issues relating to flood risk in the Pleasant Valley area.

Following the presentations, representatives from the following agencies will be in attendance to offer one-on-one opportunity for questions:

  • Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management
  • Colorado Springs Fire Department
  • Colorado Springs Police Department
  • KKTV Meteorologist
  • KRDO Meteorologist
  • National Weather Service
  • Flood insurance
  • US Forest Service
  • Colorado Springs Stormwater
  • AspenPointe

The meeting location is wheelchair accessible.
