During National Search for New Director
The City announced today that Colorado Springs Airport Aviation Director Mark Earle will be leaving as Director of the Airport. Assistant Aviation Director Dan Gallagher will assume the role of Interim Director while the City conducts a national search for a new Director. Mr. Earle has agreed to serve in the role of Senior Advisor – Airport and Aviation Affairs, for the remainder of the year to assist the City and the Interim Director in the transition.
“The City greatly appreciates Mark’s leadership of our airport over the past nine- and- a- half years. We wish him continued success in the future,” said Mayor Steve Bach. “The Airport is a critical contributor to our City’s economic success, particularly in the areas of tourism and attracting new jobs, and we will be focused on developing new strategies and collaborative efforts to propel our Airport to greater success. The City is confident that with a renewed effort we will be successful in attracting new airlines to the Airport and substantially increase passenger volumes. The increased success of the Airport will be a very important factor in our ongoing economic recovery.”
“It’s been an honor to serve at Colorado Springs Airport over the past nine- and- a- half years. I’ve had the privilege of working with one of the finest staffs in the airport industry and have enjoyed the support of a truly great community,” said Earle. “Working together, we have built a strong foundation for the future at COS. I look forward to working with Dan and the rest of the team on a smooth transition, and ensuring the continued success of the Airport Enterprise.”
Assistant Aviation Director Dan Gallagher has had a very successful career in the airport industry, and has been with the Colorado Springs Airport since September 2010. This experience makes Dan Gallagher an excellent choice as Interim Director, and will serve the City and Airport very well.
