Annual Awards Ceremony

The Colorado Springs Police Department and citizens of the community will be celebrating the CSPD Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 24th, 2013 at 6:00 PM.  To be held at the City Auditorium located at 221 E. Kiowa Street, this event promises to be uplifting and inspiring.

The ceremony will recognize our Civilian Employee of the Year, followed by 17 citizens who have assisted in the prevention of a crime, apprehension of a suspect or rendered outstanding service to our department. Additionally, this award extends appreciation to citizens who have performed heroic acts at the risk of danger to themselves.

The remaining presentations include Department Commendations and Lifesaving Awards to Colorado Springs Police Officers.  The Department Commendation reflects an outstanding act or achievement which brings credit to the department involving performance beyond the employee’s normal assignment.  The Lifesaving Award is given to any Police Department member for saving a human life.  Although the victim may have died later, the actions prolonged life and permitted the victim to be treated by medical personnel.

Members of the press are invited to join us in honoring these citizens and police department personnel.  Dessert and beverages will be served.  Note to media:  This is an invitation to members of the media only.

Due to seating limitation it will not be open to the public.
