Drake Task Force Website Launched

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, the Drake Power Plant Task Force website,, was launched.

Features of the site include information about the 254-megawatt Martin Drake Power Plant, the latest Task Force news, meeting agendas, procurement-related documents and an online submission form for public comment.

The website will be updated regularly with the status of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and information about recent or upcoming Task Force meetings.

The Task Force, which consists of nine citizen volunteers and Councilwomen Brandy Williams and Lisa Czelatdko, who are also Utilities Board members and Task Force co-leads, is charged with the development of a RFP and evaluation of proposals for an independent consultant study of the power plant.

The Task Force is scheduled to meet the following Fridays from 9 a.m.-noon in the Pikes Peak Conference Room, City Hall, located at 107 North Nevada Avenue. Meetings are open to the public:

  • Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22
  • March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29
  • April 5 and 12
