City Holding Public Open House for Ivywild Roundabout Project
Thursday, December 06, 2012

The City of Colorado Springs will hold an open house to collect public input on a plan to install a roundabout at the five-legged intersection of Tejon Street, Cascade Avenue, Ramona Avenue and Cheyenne Boulevard. The open house will take place on Tuesday, December 11 from 5 – 8 p.m. at St. Aiden’s Anglican Church (1626 S. Tejon Street, 80905).

Engineers from the project team and the City of Colorado Springs will be available to answer questions and collect public input. The open house will include displays and exhibits showing the roundabout concept and explaining how roundabouts function. It offers a semi-informal setting for the one-on-one exchange of comments and ideas on this traffic improvement plan.

The existing intersection creates delays in traffic under moderate traffic volumes and is confusing to navigate. In addition, bike lanes and approaches are sub-standard to allow for safe passage of bicycles through the intersection.
