Mayor Bach announces Pension Solutions Team
Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach announced today the formation of a Pension Solutions Team which will provide the City with advice and counsel on achieving long term pension sustainability.

“The City's current pension plans are not fiscally sustainable and if not changed will lead to General Fund insolvency.  It is essential that the plans be modified for long term sustainability," said Mayor Bach.

Leading the solutions team will be Marv Strait, CPA.  Also serving on the team will be other community leaders including Kurt Kofford, CPA; David Sunderland, retired businessman; two City Council members to be announced; Laura Neumann, Chief of Staff; Kara Skinner, City Chief Financial Officer;  and Mike Sullivan Human Resources Director.  The team is expected to have a recommendation for the Mayor by February 2013.
