Death Investigation Results in Arrest for Homicide

On Wednesday, October 23rd, officers from our Falcon Division were dispatched to the Fillmore Ridge Apartments located at 3210 N. Chestnut Street to a call of a suicide.


Officers found a female who had an apparent gunshot wound.  Our Violent Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began their investigation.


Based on their investigation, detectives were able to establish probable cause for the arrest of 26 year old Louis Mamo for Murder in the 2nd Degree.  Mr. Mamo was taken into custody on 10-23-12 and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.


The victim was identified as 25 year old Karen Mamo, the wife of Mr. Mamo.


This marks the city’s 20th Homicide of 2012.  Last year at this time, the Colorado Springs Police Department had 25 Homicides.
