Fillmore Corridor Improvement Project Open House
Friday, October 19, 2012

On Wednesday, October 24, 2012 there will be an open house for the Fillmore Corridor Improvement Project.  The open house will be held from 5-7pm in the cafeteria at Coronado High School (1590 West Fillmore St.).  Light refreshments will be provided.  Attendees will learn about the construction phases and timeline, and have an opportunity to meet the contractor and City representatives.

This construction project will impact motorists, residents, and businesses who travel or access Fillmore Street between I-25 and Sage Street; Chestnut Street between Taylor Street and Armory Street; and Parker Street between Taylor Street and Fillmore Street.

The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority was formed when voters in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls and El Paso County approved a one percent sales tax in November of 2004 to address infrastructure and transit needs in the region.  The tax revenue is divided into three categories: 55 percent for capital improvements (such as this project), 35 percent for maintenance, and 10 percent for transit.
