Update to 2230 Monterey Death Investigation

Special Update: The District Attorney’s Office hasreviewed the above mentioned case file from CSPD and based on the current evidence, coupled with the investigation, has decided not to file charges against Mr. Sesena. The current evidence indicates that Mr. Sesena acted in self-defense, defense of others and defense of property.
The autopsy is now complete and the Coroner has ruled this “death investigation” to be a Homicide with the manner being multiple gunshot wounds.
As a reminder: a homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another. There are justifiable homicides and criminal homicides. The actions of all involved are being reviewed by the Office of the District Attorney for a determination in regards to any filing of charges.
The deceased male has been identified as 29 year old, Colorado Springs resident, Anthony Ferchaud.
The injured male has been identified as 33 year old, Colorado Springs resident, Carlos Sesena. Mr. Sesena suffered multiple gunshot wounds but is expected to survive.

Just after 11:00 pm. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, Colorado Springs Police Officers were dispatched to a Disturbance with shots fired at a home at 2230 Monterey Road.
When officers arrived, they observed two adult male victims; one who was deceased at the scene and the other in critical condition. That person was transported to Memorial Central.
It appears that the two parties knew one another and investigators are confident that there is no threat to the community.
Investigators are expected to remain on the scene for several more hours as they conduct interviews and collect evidence.
There is no suspect or vehicle information to be shared nor are names being released at this time.
