Colorado Springs Fire Department Awarded Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation
Colorado Springs, CO –The Colorado Spring Fire Department is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The grant valued at $19,906.25, will be used to purchase for (325) Nomex brush shirts. These shirts are a great addition to the jackets and pants that our firefighters are currently issued. They are specifically designed for wildland firefighting and will help improve safety for our firefighters while fighting wildfires. CSFD Fire Chief Rich Brown says, “We would like to thank the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for this grant. The safety of our firefighters is our top priority.”
“Our local heroes need to be prepared at a moment’s notice to protect and save lives. Many first responders are forced to make do with older equipment and have limited or no access to needed resources.” said Marty Rossing, franchisee of the Colorado Springs Firehouse Subs restaurant. “Our Foundation’s goal is to impact local fire departments, law enforcement, EMS and public safety organizations with the tools, technology and training they need.”
In 2005, Firehouse Subs established its non-profit, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, with the goal to provide funding, life-saving equipment, disaster assistance and educational opportunities for first-responders and public safety organizations. Over 5.2 million dollars has been donated since this foundation started.
