CSFD Caring for Our Community

Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Fire Department will begin two of our health and wellness initiatives. First, this Saturday, July 21, we will be setting up satellite clinics around the community at four partnering grocery stores. CSFD plans on holding these satellite clinics EVERY third Saturday of the month from 10:00am to 12:00pm through the end of the year. In addition to the CSFD Firefighters, EMT’s and Paramedics, we will have local “safety net” partners Mission Medical, SET Family Medical Clinics, Open Bible Medical Clinic, Peak Vista Community Clinics and the Dream Center to assist. They will be doing free blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and assist with getting people enrolled with primary health care providers. We will have Dieticians will be on hand to help people make healthy food choices. The stores participating will be offering sales that place an emphasis on value purchases for healthy eating. The partnering grocery stores are:

King Soopers at 815 Cheyenne Meadows Road, Colorado Springs, CO


The second on-going event is the community health screening clinics in the community room of CSFD Fire Station #8 (3737 Airport Rd.). Our safety net partner SET Family Medical Clinics offer free blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and assist in enrolling people into primary health care. This clinic is EVERY Tuesday from 10:00am to 12:00pm starting August 7th, 2012.
