Platte Ave. Safety Improvements to Restart
Tuesday, July 03, 2012

The construction of safety improvements along a section of Platte Ave. through central Colorado Springs is scheduled to restart Thursday, July 5th, 2012.  Work will close the outside lanes of Platte Ave. and adjacent portions of intersecting side streets (Meade, Farragut, Logan, Foote, and Sheridan).

Construction will be on the north side of Platte Ave.  The westbound lanes and access to intersecting side streets will be affected for about ten to twelve weeks.  Sidewalks and pedestrian access will also be locally affected.

Throughout the process, local access to intersecting side streets will be maintained from the end of the street away from the construction.  On-street parking may be impacted by staged construction equipment.

Motorists should expect delays and pay attention to message boards in the area that will warn of traffic changes, and plan alternate routes accordingly.
