The Transit Services Division of the City of Colorado Springs, administrator of Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT), will be celebrating Earth Day by offering free rides on Colorado Springs local city buses, April 20, 2012.
“Mountain Metropolitan Transit is dedicated to the idea that public transportation is a crucial part of the solution to our energy and environmental challenges. We hope the free rides on Friday, April 20 will help demonstrate the importance of public transportation and encourage more people in our community to think about alternative modes of transportation,” said Craig Blewitt, director Mountain Metropolitan Transit.
This year’s Earth Day theme is Mobilize the Earth™. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will voice their appreciation for the planet; stand united for a sustainable future, and call upon individuals, organizations, and governments to do their part.
Free rides are available on the local fixed-route, city buses only, MMT’s other services are not included.
