The City of Colorado Springs, at the direction of the Mayor and City Council, is releasing the proposed new Economic Development Agreement with the USOC, and the proposed Settlement Agreement with LandCo Equity Partners today for public review.  These agreements will be available online for review at www.SpringsGov.com and in the City Clerk?s Office and the Public Communications Office.  The USOC Board reviewed the proposed arrangements and authorized USOC Senior Management to move forward to act on the agreements.

City Council will hold a special meeting on July 31, in City Council Chamber, City Hall, at 4:00 p.m. to publicly discuss the proposed Economic Development Agreement and proposed LandCo settlement.  At Council?s Formal Meeting on August 11, 2009 public comment will be heard on this item, and then Council will vote on the agreements in their public session.

?This has been a long road for the USOC, the City and LandCo, but we have remained collectively focused on improvements to facilities that will support the outstanding contributions of USOC athletes in preserving Olympic ideals that are an inspiration to all Americans.  The United States Olympic Committee remains committed to have its headquarters in Colorado Springs for another 30 years, the National Governing Bodies will have their own building and the City and community will provide for significant improvement in Olympic Training Center facilities for our treasured athletes.   We have successfully accomplished our shared goal with this agreement? said Mayor Lionel Rivera.
