Vincent Drive Road Extension Phase II construction starting Jan. 23

Construction of the Vincent Dr. Rd Extension Project – Phase II will begin this Monday (January 23). Work on this project includes extending and realigning Vincent Drive to a new intersection with Dublin Blvd, south over an existing stone masonry culvert crossing at Cottonwood Creek. Along with the new roadway, extensive utility work will take place.  At the beginning of construction, only minor encroachment on traveling lanes will be occurring with more extensive traffic impacts as the project continues.

Access to businesses and residents will remain open at all times.

For information or questions on construction impacts, please call Blue Ridge Construction at (719) 578-5225 EXT 10.

This project is being funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA). The PPRTA was formed when voters in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls and El Paso County approved a one percent sales tax in November of 2004 to address infrastructure and transit needs in the region.  The tax revenue is divided into three categories: 55 percent for capital improvements (such as this project), 35 percent for maintenance, and 10 percent for transit. The capital portion of the tax will sunset at the end of the year in 2014.
