Bridge Repairs - Traffic Impacts South Nevada over Fountain Creek

Cimarron over Railroad and Conejos Street

On Friday, September 23rd, beginning at 7:00 pm, South Nevada Avenue and Cimarron will be reduced to a single lane in each direction for preventive maintenance to the Bridge decks. The lane closures will shift as the project continues with each lane closure lasting approximately 24 hours.

The City is actively pursuing preventive maintenance to ensure the longest functional life for our Bridge Infrastructure. The scope of work consists of using a concrete sealer on the median and sidewalks, and a two-part epoxy aggregate overlay on the driving surface. Drivers should expect some delays and use alternate routes when possible.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

Media should contact Dan Krueger, at 385-5385 with any questions.

This project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
