What do Aeroflex, Manitou Springs School District, Blue Star Recyclers, Honeywell, Springs Fabrication, Firestone Complete Auto Care, United Technologies and the United States Air Force Academy all have in common? They’re all Pikes Peak Region community entities recognized for going above and beyond compliance as Colorado Environmental Leaders.
At the City’s next Green Bag Lunch-n-Learn on Thursday, Feb. 21 Program Manager Lynette Myers will share the state-wide Environmental Leadership Program recognition and reward program administered by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Division of Environmental Health and Sustainability. The Program offers benefits and incentives to members that voluntarily go beyond compliance with state and federal regulations and are committed to continual environmental improvement.
The lunch-n-learn runs over the noon lunch hour, from 12:11 to 12:49 p.m., at the City Administration Building, 30 S. Nevada, in Suite 102. Attendees are encouraged to bring and enjoy their lunches during the presentation. Those who come have the opportunity to win a door prize tote bag made from reused City banners.
Each month, the City sponsors a lunch-n-learn topic on a sustainability issue.
