Councilmember and Committee Chair Val Snider opened the meeting at 8:30 a.m.

Introductions were made by all present.

Local Regulatory Overview

Chris Melcher told the Committee that he was available for meetings or legal questions regarding the proper role of local regulation.

Presentations

Tisha Conoly Schuller, President and CEO of Colorado Oil & Gas Association (COGA) gave a presentation on hydraulic fracturing.

10 minute break.

Michael Freeman, attorney with Earthjustice, also gave a presentation on hydraulic fracturing.

Open Discussion

Confirmed a meeting with Greeley Mayor Tom Norton and a well pad site visit for February 29, 2012.  The purpose of this meeting is to gain further information on how oil and gas production and related land use affects a community.
