Launch of Adaptive Lighting in Downtown Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs, CO - Mayor Steve Bach will turn on the adaptive lights in Acacia Park on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Adaptive lighting (also known as variable lighting) allows the City to control the light level of streetlights. The lights have been installed in Acacia Park as well as in the downtown area along Tejon Street. They can be set on a daily schedule to provide more lighting when needed and less light when traffic is at a minimum.
The program involved 63 streetlights on Tejon Street from Platte Avenue to Colorado Avenue and 17 streetlights in Acacia Park. Special thanks to our partners El Pomar Foundation, The Police Foundation and Colorado Springs Utilities.
