The City of Colorado Springs, in partnership with Rebuilding Together Colorado Springs, the Energy Resource Center and many other public, private and non-profit organizations, held a volunteer day to revitalize the Deerfield Hills Neighborhood on Saturday, May 12. The work day involved painting and landscaping 12 homes in the neighborhood. Forty-seven businesses and organizations partnered with the City and community for this project!

The event was a huge block party open to all in the neighborhood, with activities for kids and adults at the Community Center and plenty of giveaways. Neighborhood residents whose homes were not being rehabilitated were able to pick up free paint and cleaning supplies. In addition, agency representatives were available to discuss community resources.
Project Scope: 12 income-qualified households and the Deerfield Hills Community Center
Project Goal: Improve living conditions for residents, eliminate blight and preserve affordable housing stock in the community
